With National Scholarship Month just around the corner, we’ve started getting some questions about how COVID-19 will impact scholarships.

Of course, each individual scholarship provider will respond to the pandemic differently. You should advise your students to check carefully with each scholarship provider to see if and how they have adjusted their policies. At the same time, we recommend bookmarking the COVID-19 information page from the National Scholarship Providers Association.

This page covers a number of topics and includes an FAQ with responses from scholarship providers regarding their policies and plans as they relate to COVID-19. You can also access resources and links. Here are some of the topics they cover:

  • Adjustments to scholarship requirements
  • Appealing for more financial aid
  • Addressing students’ emergency needs
  • Virtual scholarship interviews

Some of the content is from last spring, but new content is marked very clearly. We encourage you to keep an eye on this page for additional updates as scholarship application season comes into full swing. What other resources are you using to stay on top of scholarship info in the time of coronavirus? Let us know on our Facebook post!

And be sure to check out more resources on keeping your college-bound students on track.
